Scholarships

Each year, the Greater Kansas City AOII Alumnae Chapter has the privilege of administering scholarship funds from the University of Kansas Endowment and the University of Central Missouri. The chapter proudly awards these scholarship funds to female students who meet the award requirements.

Need money for school? You’re in luck. We’ve aggregated all the different scholarships we know about into one easy post so you can make the most of your scholarship hunting and apply for some dough. These are in order by application due date, so start at the top and get your details ready.

Due Feb 1 – Greater Kansas City Alumnae Panhellenic Scholarships

Award amount varies for this scholarship, but multiple requirements to apply are in place, including having grown up in the Kansas City area.

Eligibility requirements include:
* Entering their senior year in college or graduate school for the current school year;
Minimum 3.2 GPA;
* Graduated High School from the 9 county greater Kansas City metropolitan area – AND – currently attend college in either Kansas or Missouri;
* Sorority affiliation – National Panhellenic  Conference (NPC) Group;
* Must be able to attend in-person interview in Kansas City .

Due Feb 1 – AOII Foundation Scholarships

Merit-based academic scholarships are awarded to AOII undergraduate, graduate, and returning alumnae each year. With more than 100 scholarships available, the list of possibilities is long. You can view it here. To learn more about what’s required, make sure to check out the application page. You’ll need letters of recommendation, so don’t procrastinate!

Due Mar 10 – National Panhellenic Conference Scholarships

The National Panhellenic Conference Foundation offers scholarships to outstanding Panhellenic women. Two of these scholarships were established or funded in honor of AOIIs, the Carole Jurenko Jones and Mary Louise Roller Scholarships.

Due Mar 15 – University of Central Missouri Scholarships

The two scholarships are The Alpha Omicron Pi – Jessie Marie Cramer Scholarship and The Katy Henry “Average” Student Scholarship, which was established in memory of Catherine “Katy” Henry, a member of AOII who dreamed of starting a scholarship for the “average” student.

To apply, a student must:
a. be a full-time female senior the following academic year and be in good academic standing at UCM;
b. be a member of Alpha Omicron Pi (however if no members of Alpha Omicron Pi apply or are deemed ineligible, other applicants shall be considered)

It’s easy to apply through UCM’s centralized application page. Once you're on the site, search "Alpha Omicron Pi" in the search bar to quickly find these schoarships.  

Due March 15 – University of Kansas Scholarships

There are two KU scholarships available, the Alpha Omicron Pi Scholarship and the Jessie Marie Cramer Scholarship. The amount of each award depends on the funds available in the current year and how many applicants apply. Applicants must complete a General Needs Analysis form and the scholarship application. Requirements for each scholarship are:

Alpha Omicron Pi Scholarship eligibility requirements:
Initiated member of Alpha Omicron Pi
Undergraduate OR graduate level

Jessie Marie Cramer Scholarship eligibility requirements:
Female student who has completed her junior year
Preference is given to students from the Greater Kansas City area
